USEful Things

Useful Things is a solo exhibition by artist Courtney Starrett. The show displays pieces that explore form, materiality, and data. The pieces are created with code and 3D modeling software, and executed with materials such as cement and felt. Similar to Starrett’s work, the logo and identity play on the idea of a recurring base unit - the curve of the lowercase ‘n’ and ‘u.’

From the Artist:
‘Through an innovative creative workflow which I call data materialization, I work through custom computer scripts, multiple software packages, and traditional craft techniques such as metalsmithing and casting to create objects that are conceptually connected by design and material.’
