UNSAYABLE
There is a lack of totality and closure in any form. Jacques Derrida believes that language refers to itself and is hence endlessly interconnected. In his book ‘Glas,’ he experiments with this concept through the layout of the text where a block of marginal information disrupts the main text. This installation capitalizes on this concept of ‘hypertext’ by allowing speech to produce a piece of marginal references which essentially becomes infinite and render the final result illegible. By pulling the text from the internet, the project becomes a commentary on the postmodern world and the interconnectivity of information on the web.
